The 2008 Otago Southland GrassKart competition is drawing to a close, with the final judging day coming up on the 17th and 18th of October at the James Hargest College grounds in Invercargill.
The teams will be judged on a variety of criteria, from how well their Kart is put together to how well they do in the actual performance tests on the day. Each team will have to perform a series of sprints, negotiate a slalom course and take part in a relay race, with points being awarded for each. The team with the greatest overall points total will be declared the winner of the performance category. see a video
Friday is setup with the teams arriving at 4pm, followed by presentations and judging by the steering committee of the construction, presentation and record keeping categories.
Saturday is the race day proper with teams arriving at 7:30 in the morning to set up in the pit area and the first race taking place at 9am.
